America has a ‘Progressive’ Disease

Many Americans see today’s progressives just as they have presented themselves over the years: forward thinking; out on the leading edge, visionary.

That positive image of course is why the word progressive was chosen. But that word has another, far more sinister meaning.

Parkinson’s.

Multiple sclerosis.

Lou Gehrig’s.

Names that strike fear.

*Progressive diseases.

*

**Diseases that start small—you don’t even know you have them. But month-by-month, year-by-year, the disease gets stronger and you get weaker—and then weaker still. And then you die.

**

***Progressive diseases.

***

****America has one of those.

****

***Long before any of us were born into this wonderful, welcoming place, the seeds of her destruction were already planted.

***

***It started back in the late 1800s. America was a free market powerhouse. Not perfect by any means, but the place where everybody in the world wanted to come. And come they did. And with them came a new and radical ideology. A new way of seeing a society. A new vision for the future. A value system that had no respect for law, no fear of God and to whom the constitution was merely an outdated inconvenience—to be paraded out when it serve their purpose and ignored when it didn’t.

***

***They brought with them a populist message that played well with voters, as long as voters didn’t think too deeply. And too often voters don’t think too deeply. And they knew that.

***

***Advanced, they called themselves. Forward thinking. Smart. Caring, they said. More feeling. More evolved. More compassionate. ‘Progressive’ they called themselves.

***

***Little did they know how right they were.

***

****A progressive disease starts with just a few cells in a body full of healthy, vital, life-sustaining cells. And one by one those original cells are co-opted and either killed or turned, until ultimately the disease has its way.

****

***This new idea picked up pace in what we now call the progressive era, and ever since has, well…progressed.

***

***Cell-by-cell, person-by-person it has worked its way into America’s vital organs: education, the media, unions—even political parties.

***

***Cell-by-cell, person-by-person it has supplanted traditional values and today stands at the threshold of owning the body.

***

***It’s a radical transformation, focused not on the creation of a nations wealth but the ‘just division’ of that wealth. It’s a transformation that seeks to replace individual decision making with an elitist group-think from a power center thousands of miles away; a transformation that shrinks the military, expands dependency and mocks the miracle of the constitution; a transformation that leaves the country weakened and vulnerable to outside forces; a transformation leading America down a path which too often ends in tyranny, poverty, violence and in a couple of cases, the death of millions.

***

****A body doesn’t willingly give into the progressive disease. It resists. It fights with everything it has—with everything it has left, at least.

****

***In America today those original cells, those people untouched by the progressive disease, are denigrated and labeled: Deplorables, they are called. Groupies. Trumpers. Uncaring. Less compassionate. Less moral.

***

***These are people who have not succumbed to the new ideology. They have not caught the new vision, but still see America as it was: strong, proud, prosperous and free.

***

***More than anything else, free.

***

***Individuals freely making their own decisions. Shaping their own lives. Self-reliant. Creating goods and services. Freely trading those goods and services at a modest profit in a market free of external forces; free of burdensome rules; free of onerous taxation.

***

***Free.

***

***And there is good news. These people are still out there resisting; fighting for that vision; fighting for their country—for their way of life. Good people, moral people, strong people, compassionate people. Praying, going to meetings, writing letters, standing along the streets waving signs, doing everything they know how, to say, “Wake up America! Wake up America!”

***

***“Wake up!”

***

***But there’s bad news too.

***

****The progressive disease almost always wins. The body dies and with it die those millions of healthy cells. As the body dies, of course the dreams die too—along with its potential—all that it could have been, should have been, indeed would have been but for the ravages of that progressive disease.

****

***If we lose America, the world loses America—for all of time.

***

***How could we willingly throw away this treasure that we so freely inherited? How could we do that to our children—to the world?

***

***How?

***

*****Epilogue

*****

*****On a bright fluffy-clouded spring morning, in an obscure corner of this vast land, in the smallest of white-picket-fence towns, a child crosses the street, her little hand gripped safely in her father’s.

*****

*****Wondering eyes look up as she asks, “Daddy, does it have to be that way?“

*****

*****“What is it, darling?”

*****

*****“I heard you and mommy talking. Does it have to be that way? Does the disease have to win? Always? Will it?”

*****

*****“Sweetheart,” he replies, softly breathing in a deep, desperate breath, “I wish I knew. I want to say no, but honestly, I don’t know. What I do know is that one-by-one, person-by-person, vote-by-vote, Americans will soon decide.”

Presidents’ Day 2022

We are a country with half of a president.

And a quarter of a president waiting to take his place.

Yet…

The most complete president in this century is out playing golf.

January 6: Keeping The Lie alive

By now we all know that January 6 will most likely become a national holiday for the massive, historic, monumental insurrection that it was.

But clearheaded people also see that as simply a lie. An insurrection where no one carried a gun? Where none of the marauders drew blood? Please!

If you call January 6 disorderly trespassing you would not be far off. To call it an insurrection—meaning an attempt to displace a government and replace it with another—is bold hyperbole.

Yet in this political climate it must be done.

The Democrats have one purpose and one mission. Keep power out of the hands of Donald Trump. And branding the disorderly trespass of January 6 and insurrection serves that purpose well. And why do they so desperately cling to it? After six years of intense and costly investigations, it’s still all they’ve got on the guy.

Because it’s easy to connect January 6 to Donald Trump, it’s necessary to Inflate it as much as possible—to sear it indelibly as an insurrection on the national consciousness—so that anyone who even thinks of supporting Donald Trump become themselves a traitor to their national heritage.

Sadly, some will buy that song and dance.

For over a year this nation was treated to far more than disorderly trespassing—in Minneapolis, in Seattle, in Portland. Whole blocks were burned, many died— but no commission is studying that. Why? Because it would serve no useful purpose in the coming election.

At this point, everything you hear about January 6 is a magnification—a coordinated effort to keep the lie alive long enough to affect an election.

It’s that simple.

Border Crisis or Border Strategy?

When the Democrats tell you with a straight face that there is no crisis at the border, they’re actually exhibiting a rare moment of honesty. As far as they are concerned, the border is doing exactly what they would like it to do: flooding the country—and especially Texas— with people who are highly inclined to vote with their hands out… which is another way of saying, vote Democrat.

The Democrats know that if they can turn Texas blue, they will then possess the massive electoral college votes of California, New York and now Texas. They will be impossible to defeat in a presidential election.

Their border ‘non-policy’ is designed to do just that.

And as far as Kamala going to the border? Heavens no! She might fix something. It’s too soon for that.

A few months from now, after several million people have flooded into our country, President Biden can pull out his golden pen and decree a blanket amnesty to anyone who was here prior to that date. And by the time we have another election we will also have several million more Democrat voters.

Border crisis? Nah… It’s a border strategy, And it’s working just fine, thank you.

I’m Considering Becoming a Socialist

I’m considering becoming a socialist
I’ve done the cost/benefit thing and I think, personally, it’s all upside
It’s all a win
It’s the closest thing there is to a free lunch

I’ve watched socialists, you see,
and it couldn’t be easier

They just demand
Demand other people’s money
Demand that they ‘contribute’

They hold the money for a bit
Then give part of it to someone else

It’s that easy
Demand it
Take it
Hold it for a bit on behalf of ‘The collective’
Then give it away
Well, most of it
The collective always keeps some
They have to
They have needs too
To sustain
To keep on
To keep doing the righteous work
To golf

The collective takes
From people who have too much
People who could never eat that much
To equalize
To make it fair
The collective gives money away
To people it decides need it more
People it decides are more deserving
It’s a righteous thing
Take from some and grant to others
Knights in armor
Modern day Robin Hoods

I’m considering becoming a socialist
Taking people’s money like that
And giving it away
It makes a person superior somehow
Morally superior
More evolved
More advanced than those selfish souls that care only about themselves
and keeping what they have earned

And here’s the clincher
You won’t believe this part
It’s all free
Really
Free

I can become a part of this
Get all of this
Be more complex
More evolved
More caring
And it costs me
Nothing

Absolutely
Nothing

Demanding costs me nothing
Demeaning the rich costs me nothing
Decrying the evils of corporations costs me nothing
Claiming my deep and abiding concern for the poor costs me nothing
Demanding that that rich give their fair share costs me nothing

I get a free ticket in
I take on the shining mantle of protector
I become superior
More caring
More evolved
More powerful
In every way, better than they are
And I do it
All with,
Other people’s money

It costs me,
Nothing

So you see
I’m thinking of becoming a socialist

It’s right there within my reach
Just simple decisions away

Decide private property doesn’t matter
They have too much anyway
Decide the constitution doesn’t matter
It’s old
Decide individual rights don’t matter
They had their turn
Just decide
Then demand
March
Occupy
Then I can be the one looking down
Sadly shaking my head at their selfishness
Then I can be the one that tells them that they just don’t get it
They aren’t as evolved

Then I can be the one showing how much more I care
Because I make people give money to the poor

And it never,
Costs,
Me,
A,
Dime

I have to admit, it’s tempting

If socialists weren’t ruining mankinds last best hope for freedom and prosperity
I just might consider becoming one

Who Are these Tea Party People?

Extremists. Bigots. Intolerants. Terrorists. Teabaggers. All pejoratives used to describe the those who call themselves the Tea Party.

Are they all of this? And more? Who are these people, really?

Well, let's look at a little history. Think of America 100 years ago–before Marxism crossed her threshold. A diverse population from all around the world. Millions of free-market, independent, God-fearing, self-sufficient people who came here seeking freedom, opportunity and a new life.

Now import into that population a whole new value system. A collectivist mentality. 'From each with the ability to each with the need.' Marxism. Free money for all! Equal in every way. No cares. The long sought utopia.

Build this mindset into the schooling system. Project it every night in the news. Subtly weave it into movie plots. Do this for a hundred or so years and watch it get disciples. Lots of them. Watch as person by person, this seductive new value system replaces the old. Suddenly the constitution makes less sense. It limits central control. It must be old-fashioned–made by dinosaurs in white wigs. Watch as free markets become less free. Government grows exponentially as do taxes to support it. Newly minted tyrants seek central control of everything. People become less self-sufficient and more entitled; less independent and more willing to lean on the state for sustenance. Watch as this new mentality changes the face and fabric of much of the country.

But not everyone is taken in.

Marxist mentality, today, resides in only part of the population. More than half of Americans are untouched. To them this new value system–which has failed every time it's been tried–makes no sense. To them, yielding freedom to an ever-growing state is anathema. They value private property. They value individual freedom. They value prosperity. They come together to decry this invasive control. They wave signs. They resist. Though it's not in their nature, they take to the streets.

Bigots? Terrorists? Extremists? Today's Tea Party is nothing more than the portion of the population that is untouched by the Marxist mindset. Those who have NOT changed. Those who see through the many deceptions and reject the false promises of the Marxist left.

Next time you think about calling the Tea Party extremist, remember that it is nothing more or less than America before the invasion of Marxism.

Of Vampires and Communists–A Halloween Story with a Scary Ending

As Halloween draws nigh, let me share a perception about vampires and their kind.

Vampire movies usually start with a pure host population. Blissful and content–they live their lives unaware that something has arrived in their midst that means to change everything. Meanwhile, the vampire enters, begins living off the host, and sets about to solidify its base and multiply its form into the host population. The movie ends one of two ways. The host population recognizes the threat and finds a way to neutralize it…or the host population slowly dwindles away as more and more are 'converted' to the new, alien form.

Now, about their ilk. This gets a little awkward, as it will distress some. But it must be said.

The year is 1919. Russia has just endured the Bolshevek revolution. Communism is on the rise as they seek to replicate their success in other countries. The United States population has existed now as a constitutional republic for nearly 150 years. Blissful. Content. They live their lives unaware that something has arrived in their midst that means to change everything. Members of Russia's communist party arrive in the US. Chicago to be precise. They live off the host population, and set about to solidify their base and multiply their form into the host population. Hoping to change this thriving constitutional republic into an autocracy, they set up what they call the Communist Party USA.

Over the ensuing years, as these people toiled and their efforts bore fruit, some of the host residents recognized the threat and attempted to ferret it out of the population. One notable senator held inquisitions to identify those intruders and exclude them from the population. Others, unaware of the threat, made him a laughing stock.

For nearly eighty years, the strain replicated into the host population–stealthily morphing into different forms. 'Progressive' they flatteringly called themselves–and 'liberal.' They pursued very specific goals which included taking control of schools, unions, media, etc. Busily, invisibly, they worked–solidifying their base and converting more and more of the host population.

Today, it seems, that strain has gained critical mass and is now treating the host population as outsiders. Teabaggers they call them. And intolerant and racist. They use the freedom and openness of their host population against them. They manipulate votes to solidify their power. They use media they control to mock and degrade their hosts. They use schools they control to convert the host children to their strain. They use unions they control to steer elections their way. At every turn, it seems, they get stronger and the host population flounders.

Where this story goes, no one knows for sure. But a sober look would indicate that, unless something dramatic changes, it doesn't end well for the host population.

When People do the Unexplainable

What follows is not an accusation, as it comes from no firm, personal knowledge. It does, however, attempt to draw some wispy lines between dots that now seem random and unexplainable.

Suppose a certain supreme court justice is checking e-mail one evening–as we all do, and makes a stray and random click–as we all do, and up pops a smiling teen cutie, preening on the beach, wearing nothin’ but sunshine. Flushed, he quickly cancels it out, but the record is there. Computers never forget.

Suppose at that moment, in another part of town, a NSA agent is watching and logging his every click. Actually, there’s no need to suppose. That’s already happening.

Suppose that information is passed to an ideological ally of that agent… Son of a gun… That seems to be happening too.

Suppose that ally–putting ideology above the oath he or she took–decides to use his or her position to help his or her friends and hinder his or her political opposition. There’s sure no supposing about this. It has happened. Admittedly. Nearly three hundred times–just in one agency.

So, a few days later, the aforementioned supreme court justice is enjoying a pause on a shady park bench. A stranger chances to sit beside him–close enough to converse.

The stranger engages a conversation that goes something like: ‘We really need your help on the healthcare vote, and we really, really don’t want you to be the first supreme court justice to be known for surfing teen porn–if you get my drift.’ He reaches to his shirt pocket and half pulls out that same picture. Fixing a steely gaze on the eyes of the Justice, he innocently asks, ‘Could you help us?’

What the supreme court justice does next, might–to the rest of us–seem absolutely unexplainable. Irrational. Unthinkable.

Information is power. And, it turns out, we are paying hundreds of agents in dozens of agencies to skulk in the background dredging up information about–not our enemies–but us. Add to this a newly formed political ethic that reads, “Win at all costs. No rules.” It’s a poisonous mix to freedom and privacy.

When people do unexplainable things… When fifteen Republicans lend their name to a vote that could well spell the end of their party, it makes you ask, ‘why?’.

Noone is accusing here. This is just mindless musing. It surely–well it probably didn’t happen this way.

But it does make you wrinkle your face a little when you realize how very many inexplicable things this could explain…

Oh.. and by the way. Wasn’t the Democrat party caught with 700 FBI super secret highly personal files of Washington’s notables? Of course that was a few years ago. Of course they gave them back and blamed a low-level staffer. Of course they didn’t glean any information about those 700 people while they had the detailed and very sensitive files in their possession. Of course they erased any very personal information they might have accidentally gleaned. Of course none of that information is being used to gain the cooperation of those 700 Washington notables even yet today. And it’s a good thing, as that might make them do some really unexplainable things.

Yes, it might.

Progressive? Seven Trillion Dollars of Debt is Progress?

People of all stripes, but mostly on the left, use the power of carefully chosen words to shape thier image.

Homosexuals become Gay. Crushing babies' skulls becomes choice. We're told that Karl Marx named his party the Bolsheveks–which meant majority–even though they were nowhere close to that.

I think of this when I hear of the 'Progressives.' Its a name clearly chosen to project an avant garde image leading us to a future of progress. A hopeful and ever changing future, perhaps.

But then you look at what they stand for–and what they do.

Progressive?

In two terms as president, doubling the national debt? Sapping financial strength from job creators? Locking up natural resources driving up prices and dependancy on others? Cutting the Naval force in half?

Their 'progress' carried on for a generation leaves America poorer, in bondage, and greatly weakened in a world where strength means everything.

A better word for this might be regressive. Pulling us backwards.

Perhaps, henceforth, we need to refer to them as they are… The Regressives.

The Regressive Left.

If words matter, then it matters that we use them right.

Progressive State or Constitutional Republic. You Choose.

Starting back as far as President Wilson, our federal government has increasingly reached outside the constitution to accomplish its ends.

That is less of a mystery if you consider one thing. Progressivism is diametrically opposed to the values of the framers of our country. The framers wrote a document that clearly states: These are the powers that we vest in the Federal Government. We have enumerated them as clearly as we can. They are fences. Boundaries. Limits on federal power. Everything else is left to the states.

Progressivism, on the other hand, is a philosophy that invites–no,it demands–a strong empowered central government. It simply cannot live within those boundaries and meet its ends.

How is this mismatch dealt with? The constitution is regularly redefined or ignored.

When she was asked where in the constitution the government got the power to force citizens on healthcare, Nancy Pelosi asked, “Are you serious?” (Ignore) After some thought she replied, “In the Commerce clause.” (Redefine).

The bottom line is that nearly half of our citizens have accepted–mostly through slanted education and reporting–a set of values that is absolutely antithetical to those of the country they were born or invited in to.

Where does this end? Clearly, one of these ideologies must prevail over the other.

In the end we will do one of two things. a) we will flush the constitution and have a progressive collectivist state with no limits on power and no protection whatever from absolute tyranny, or b) we will return to honoring, respecting and living within the constraints of the document that made our country the beacon of freedom and hope to a troubled world.

Vote and vote smart.
